Subject:anyone out there?

I don't know if anyone keeps up with this community anymore, but in case anyone does, I have some questions about the school from an international perspective. I've been accepted to study abroad at Roehampton next year, and I need to be really, really sure that this is what I want. the whole process is making me incredibly nervous. can anyone who's studied here tell me what it's like?

as far as the school is concerned, how big are classes? how easy is it to adjust to the different way that they're run in England? did you feel like you learned as well as you do here [or better]?

what sort of people can I expect to meet at Roehampton? I go to a really quirky, small school full of eccentric people who were never quite "in" in high school, and I love it, but I worry about going elsewhere. was it easy to make friends? did you mostly make acquaintances, or actual close friends?

how easy is it to get into the city from Roehampton? can I walk to the tube station easily? how easy is it to get to a grocery store?

and about the experience of studying abroad in general, I guess I'd like to know everything you can tell me. I'm really nervous about going, and it's also an expensive prospect, so I really want to be sure about it. what did you gain from it, really? was it a pleasant experience, or more of one that's good for you but grueling at the time?

thanks to anyone who reads and responds to that whole spiel =)

This is so, so sad, but I was just watching my DVD and noticed that Roehampton is mentioned in an episode of Monkey Dust -- it's episode 2 of the first series, during the bad-weatherman-link sketch. It's about the most fame and recognition the area will ever achieve, I reckon.

With a week before our new contract starts, one of my housemates has seen fit to flee and left us in crisis. We're getting a bit desperate for someone new so if you need anyone to live with or know someone who needs anyone to live with, please either pass this on or let me know.

Housemate needed!Collapse )

Hello all!

Just posting to say that, since I noticed that Roehampton University was spelled incorrectly on the original listing, I went ahead and submitted it again.

Anyone who is still listed as attending 'Roehampton Univerisity' might want to swap over to the newer one.

Bye for now :)

I just joined this community, if I'd know this was here before it would have been helpful. :)
Am starting my third and last year at Roehampton this fall.

I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can find out my exam results?
And when I might find out the date for my graduation?

Thx :)

I'm not sure if this is appropriate, however... I have recently signed up for a book which deals will selling/buying academic texts.

http://www.academicbooktrade.co.uk/

All you ex students who need the cash and any of you newbies who want something on the cheap, should sign up.

To anyone (who isnt already on my friends list...) who's graduated over the past couple of days - Congratulations!

For anyone who'll be graduating in the next couple of years, when your time comes, dont get stressed about it. It's probably a bit redundent to say it, as no doubt you'll get nervous over it anyway, but it's really nothing to get worry about. It's really straight forward, despite how daughting it might seem at the time - there's lots of people about to show you what to do and where to go, and the whole process on the day is much simplier than you'd expect. Not that you want to think about uni too much now, during the summer :)

For anyone who didn't find out by walking all the way to campus earlier, this year’s exam results, at least for Humanities, are out on the 28th. Psychology and Counselling (and therefore presumably other psychology related subjects) were out today.

Does anyone know when the exam results are out? Specifically I'm interested in the third year English Lit ones, but I figure they all get put up at pretty much the same time.

Cheers, midears.

Hello all,

My name is Jessica and I will be starting the BA Primary Education with Design and Technology in September. I just had my interview on the phone today :)
I was so stunned when I was offered the place right there and then ...
I haven't been to see the university, but I believe it is very beautiful. I won't live on campus, rather far away in central London (London Bridge/Borough).

Any other student teachers here?
Who are you lot then?
